To fully enjoy the bdsse best damn space sim ever you need the best damn controllers ever.
Star citizen dual stick and throttle.
Your throttle is like 2 or 3.
I have dual stick and throttle and would recommend it.
It is worth trying.
I use dual stick in dogfights canyon flying etc and the throttle for set it and forget it flying like entering and exiting atmo.
You have to make sure you are on the right joystick input though i kept changing it on 1 but that is actually the flight stick itself and won t affect the throttle.
Would it be possibly to for example have a warthog and a t16000m using the sticks for the usual dual stick setup while also having the warthog throttle to the left of your left stick and use its extra buttons for the probable mass of bindable future actions and for cruise control when you don.
Just use the mini stick that is part of the throttle.
If your input is not listed it means its input 1 or hotas.
So in my internal debate of hotas vs dual stick i thought.
While keyboard and mouse works for star citizen its not the ideal way to play it except for the first person parts.
This is because space sims like star citizen and elite dangerous have 6 dof degrees of freedom which means you need 6 axes to control your space craft optimally plus another axis.
The throttle is also useful for the extra buttons i have things like quantum on it to keep my stocks open for missiles and target locks.
Star citizen aims to span multiple video game types by combining space trading space combat and shooter elements in a first person massively multiplayer online game.
Would it be possible to do both.
In the controls section where you can adjust your curves there is an option to invert the throttle.
